Iris is built against the .NET 2.0 runtime (so it runs in 3.0 and 3.5 as well). That's ironic since it was originally written in C# 3.0 and back ported. The .NET 3.5 builds will be out some time. It does not currently run on Mono, although that's important to us.

There are no 'stable' releases, only 'dev' releases. With that said, we do a lot of (automated) testing on every build using some ~20MB of source code in various languages, and the computer hasn't blown up yet. YMMV.

The ZIP file for the distribution contains:

• A self-contained DLL (Iris.DLL) and its accompanying documentation (Iris.XML)
• Compiled help file (CHM) with the API Reference
• Command-line highlighing tool (Iris.exe)
• ~460 Vim syntax definition files
