Vim's founder and main author, Bram Moolenaar, is deeply involved in a project that helps orphaned children
in Uganda. You can check it out at http://iccf-holland.org/.
He's made Vim charityware, meaning that if you
use it and like it you are requested to make a contribution. It's optional, there are no nags or trial period, but it's the right thing to do. Otherwise,
man, you'll be in for some heat when your heart is weighed against the feather. Since
Iris exists only due to Vim, I think out of fairness the same request should be made of Iris users. Please consider donating.
If you choose to donate, I would really appreciate it if you let me know, if only for the purely selfish
reason that it makes me feel good ;). You know, when I was testing this thing, fixing corner case after corner case
in 50 MB of highlighted test code on the weekend, thinking that I might be able to get some contributions for these kids was a huge motivator.
Thank you,
Gustavo
